To help brides and grooms around the world, every year Pinterest releases a trend report, which thankfully includes a wedding segment. According to the visual platform, searches for fig wedding cakes have increased 575% compared to last year. For some reason, people just started to realize how delicious figs taste and decided to include it on their wedding favorite dessert – and we are not complaining.

Fresh figs have two seasons: early in June and August to October. They have a deep purple / redish color on the outside, and look stunning when cut open, with a rich coral color and beautiful texture. They pair perfectly with all types of berries and have an incredible and sophisticated taste that will compliment your sweet cake so well.

You can choose to use figs as the only star of your cake, as you can see in some minimalist fig wedding cakes below, or combine it with other fruits, flowers or greeneries.

Oh, and most importantly, we must not forget to mention that figs are believed to bring good luck and prosperity. Sounds wedding appropriate to me.
